About the City Engineer

The City currently utilizes the firm L.A.N. Engineerng to perform city engineering services. For design of capital projects, the City developed a selection process.

The Engineering Department reviews all submitted subdivision plats for compliance with City Standards in all infrastructure areas: water, wastewater, streets, and drainage. The Engineering Department coordinates capital improvement projects for water, wastewater, street, drainage, and City building construction when assigned by the City Manager.

The Engineering Department provides technical support to other departments by preparing maps, charts, other graphic displays; estimates for engineering, architecture, construction, and traffic control, etc. The Engineering Department reviews construction plans for infrastructure construction for new developments, authorizes construction of new developments, and accepts new developments when all infrastructure construction is complete.

The Engineering Department provides floodplain information based on Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Rate Maps at no cost. Various official maps such as the Street Map and City Limits and ETJ Map are available for review on the GIS CITY MAPS page. These maps are usually the most current and up to date maps available.

The materials listed on the fee schedule are available through the Engineering Department. These materials are copies and prepared on an as requested basis.
