The Information Technology Department is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining the information systems program for the City of Copperas Cove. The department is responsible for all technology assets owned by the City and helps adopt policies for use of those assets. The Information Technology Department works closely with all city departments advising department directors on current and future information systems requirements. The department also provides hardware and software technical support, installation, upgrading and repair services.

The Information Technology Director consults with city departments on the purchasing, installation, and maintenance of personal computer systems servers, and computer network systems. The Information Technology Director is the liaison with government and commercial computer vendors for the purchase and service of personal computer, mainframe computer, and local area network hardware and software. The Information Technology department also manages and maintains the City web site and email system.
