In the Children’s Room we offer a wide selection of books, audio-books on CD, and children’s DVDs. Toddler Time for 1-3 year old children meet on Tuesdays at 10 am and Story Time for 3- 5 year old children meet on Thursdays at 10 am. Our Teen Program for ages 11-18 meets on the third Thursday of each month at 4:30 pm with pizza, books and X-Box gaming. Homeschool STEM Activities are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am for our homeschool families. The annual Summer Reading Program runs from mid-June into early July with special activities for ages 1-15, and weekly special performances that educate and entertain the whole family.

The Copperas Cove Public Library is pleased to be a part of Family Place Libraries. Family Place builds on the knowledge that good health, early learning, parental involvement and supportive communities play a critical role in a young child’s growth and development. The overall goal of Family Place Libraries is to develop and institutionalize a family friendly environment by transforming libraries into community centers for literacy, early childhood development, parent education and engagement, family support and community information. Twice a year the Copperas Cove Public Library offers a 5- week Family Place Libraries Parent-Child Workshop for toddlers and their parents to connect them with community resources and reinforce the importance of “learning through play” for children. Our Meeting Room is set up with interactive toys and activities that encourage hands-on opportunities for toddlers to explore and play. Each week a different community resource specialist is available through the program to discuss topics like early literacy, speech and language, nutrition, early childhood development, and music with parents in a casual one-on-one setting. In addition to our Parent -Child Workshops, we also offer early childhood toys, puzzles, puppets and puppet stage in our Children’s Room, as well as print and digital collections of Parenting Resources.
